The Advanced Training in Handicrafts Component of the Development of Handicrafts Scheme is introduced by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Union Territory of Puducherry, to provide advanced training to individuals seeking to master exquisite craft skills. Through this scheme, candidates will be sponsored for training in other states where the craft is practised to its finest. The training program focuses on enhancing craft skills, enabling participants to acquire advanced techniques and proficiency in their chosen craft.

Short Term Training Programme-SFURTI Program, launched by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), aims to provide financial assistance to institutions for conducting faculty and student trainings to enable faculty members and students in the field of technical education. The scheme helps prepare faculty and students to impart their research work in the development of small-scale business for the nation. Conducted jointly by AICTE and Indian Micro Enterprises Development Foundation (IMEDF), it focuses on the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI).

The scheme aims to promote economic development of SC/ST entrepreneurs by providing a 35% capital subsidy on eligible project cost (not exceeding ₹1.5 Crore) and 6% interest subvention for loans to procure machinery and equipment. It supports both new enterprises and expansion of existing enterprises in manufacturing, services, and trading sectors.

The Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Challenge (APEC) is the first part of the Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Development Programme (APEDP). It aims to identify, promote, support, and nurture sustainable and locally relevant business ideas and entrepreneurs. After evaluation and screening, 50 top entrepreneurs will be selected for Incubation and Pre-Incubation programmes facilitated by IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. The top 10 entrepreneurs will be awarded up to Rs. 5 lakhs and the next 40 entrepreneurs will be awarded up to Rs. 4 lakhs.

Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
The scheme provides financial assistance to training institutions under the Ministry of MSME for creation, strengthening and expansion of infrastructure, including setting up of new branches and centres. Assistance is also provided for meeting revenue deficit of the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NIMSME). The scheme supports skill development training, entrepreneurship training, and capacity building of training institutions and staff of District Industries Centres.
Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities
An umbrella scheme launched by the Government of Odisha to provide welfare and empowerment services to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The scheme aims to address constraints in accessing public services due to lack of certification and lack of adequate assistive devices and appliances. It covers 21 categories of disabilities and provides support for therapies, surgery, fitting of aids & appliances, self-employment avenues, education, employment, barrier-free environment, and social security.

BIG is a flagship scheme of BIRAC that recognizes and invests in innovative ideas in the biotech sector with clear potential to translate into commercial products/technologies. It supports individual entrepreneurs and start-ups from ideation to Proof of Concept (PoC) stage.
Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying
A scheme to develop private entrepreneurs for undertaking cattle and buffalo breeding through establishment of breed multiplication farms (BMF). The scheme provides 50% capital subsidy (limited to Rs. 2.00 Crore) to interested entrepreneurs for construction of cattle sheds, equipment, and procurement of elite breeding animals. Entrepreneurs will produce disease-free elite heifers using sexed semen or IVF technology and establish BMFs to serve as training centres for farmers and entrepreneurs.

A Suo-Moto Sub-Scheme under the Capacity Building for Service Providers (CBSP) umbrella scheme that provides financial assistance to institutes to conduct entrepreneurship development programmes in five trades: Cook-Tandoor, Barman, Baker, Homestay (Multi-Skilled Caretaker), and Halwai (Indian Sweets). The programme offers 150-hour courses with stipends, certification, and employment facilitation for eligible candidates.

A Suo-Moto Sub-Scheme under the Umbrella Scheme of Capacity Building for Service Providers (CBSP). Financial assistance is provided to selected institutes to conduct Skill Development Programmes targeting persons with limited means who need to acquire skills facilitative to employment in hospitality sector. Courses include Multi Cuisine Cook, Food & Beverage Service Steward, Room Attendant, Front Office Associate, Laundry Machine Operator, Kitchen Steward, Home Delivery Boy, and Traditional Snack & Savoury Maker.

Employment generation scheme to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment by providing subsidized term loans and margin money for establishment of new micro/small/medium enterprises across manufacturing, service, and agro-processing sectors.
Social Welfare Department
The objective of this scheme is integrated work related to social empowerment, cultural empowerment and economic empowerment related to the development of women. Benefits include women's helpline, short stay home, defense home, working women's hostel, child care home under social empowerment; women cultural fairs and award scheme to self-help groups for innovative work under cultural empowerment; and training of women in employable vocational courses in service sector and employment or association with self-employment under economic empowerment.

The Dalit Bandhu Scheme is a unique initiative launched by the government of Telangana to promote the economic development of families belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community. The scheme provides financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakhs to eligible SC families to start their own businesses or entrepreneurial ventures, thereby creating opportunities for them to become self-reliant and improve their standard of living. One-time capital assistance of Rs. 10 lakhs per SC family is provided as a 100% grant/subsidy to establish suitable income-generating schemes without bank loan linkage.

DAY-NRLM is the flagship program of the Ministry of Rural Development for promoting poverty reduction through building strong institutions for the poor, particularly women, and enabling these institutions to access a range of financial services and livelihoods. The scheme covers 7 Crore rural poor households across 600 districts, 6000 blocks, 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats and 6 lakh villages through self-managed Self Help Groups (SHGs) and federated institutions, supporting them for livelihoods collectives over 8-10 years.

The Government of Puducherry introduced the Scheme Development Of Coir Industries to promote and develop Coir and Coir based industry in the Union territory of Puducherry. The scheme aims to develop coir and coir-based industry, to train rural poor in producing coir products, and to generate employment thereby. Training is imparted in coir rope and coir-mat making through coconut fiber for a period of 6 months.

The Digital MSME Scheme aims to make MSMEs digitally empowered by motivating them to adopt Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools and cloud-based applications in their production and business processes. Implemented under the MSME Champions umbrella by the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), it offers subsidised access to cloud computing services, ERP, CRM, and other ICT applications to registered MSMEs. The scheme covers all MSMEs registered under the MSMED Act 2006 (as amended) and those included via executive orders by the Office of the DC (MSME). Service providers empanelled by DC (MSME) deliver cloud-based ICT solutions at subsidised rates, with the government reimbursing the subscription cost directly to the service provider. It is an ongoing component of the MSME Champions Scheme aimed at improving MSME competitiveness in national and international markets.

The scheme 'Empowering Youth for Undertaking Value Added Innovative Translational Research (E-YUVA)' was started by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) to promote a culture of applied research and need-oriented (societal or industry) entrepreneurial innovation among young students and researchers. BIRAC's Innovation Fellows are expected to initiate biotech startups with proposals having the potential to commercialize innovative products and technologies.

The Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) is organized regularly to nurture the talent of youth by enlightening them on various aspects of industrial/business activity required for setting up MSMEs. The programme conducts activities for youth and other people interested in setting up their own industrial/self-employment venture through various modules including Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP), Entrepreneurship-cum-Skill Development Programme (E-SDP), and Management Development Programme (MDP), both basic and advanced levels.

This programme aims to tap the expertise available in the large pool of Agriculture graduates and create gainful self-employment opportunities for unemployed agricultural graduates, agricultural diploma holders, intermediate in agriculture and biological science graduates, with PG in agri-related courses. The scheme provides full financial support for training and handholding, provision of loans, and credit-linked back-ended composite subsidy. A 45 days specialized training is provided by selected institutes across the country.

The Feed and Fodder Entrepreneurship Scheme aims to establish an effective seed production chain, build capacity of state functionaries and livestock owners in forage production, conservation and utilization, and establish convergence among ongoing programmes for fodder resource development. The scheme provides 50% direct capital subsidy to beneficiaries for establishing feed and fodder enterprises and 100% subsidy on fodder seed production. It supports procuring machinery like Bailers, Block making machines, TMR machines, and Forage Harvesters.

GOBARdhan was launched by the Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation in April 2018 as part of the Solid and Liquid Waste Management component under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) to positively impact village cleanliness and generate wealth and energy from cattle and organic waste. The scheme supports villages in effectively managing their cattle waste, agricultural waste/residue, and all other organic waste. It promotes the conversion of organic waste (especially cattle dung) to wealth through the generation of manure and energy, creating livelihood opportunities and enhancing income of farmers and rural people. The scheme involves entrepreneurs, SHGs, and Youth Groups in the setting up and operation of biogas plants.

The scheme provides subsidy to entrepreneurs and farmers interested in commercial broiler poultry farming in Himachal Pradesh. It aims to provide good nutrition to the state population, augment rural income, double farmer income, increase rural employment, and produce high-grade manure at minimal cost.

A placement-linked skill training programme for unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir. Youth are provided free skill training for 3 to 12 months in various market-demand skills, with job placement assurance (minimum 70%) and one year post-placement tracking. The programme includes residential and non-residential training, computer-oriented skills, soft skills, English communication, and technical skills training.

iDEX is an operational framework that provides grants up to Rs. 1.50 Crore (up to Rs. 10 Crore in case of iDEX Prime) to Start-ups/MSMEs to fund projects in many technological areas under Defence India Start-up Challenges (DISC) and Open Challenge through the Support for Prototype and Research Kick start (SPARK Framework). The scheme fosters innovation and technology development in Defence and Aerospace sectors and provides a path to procurement for the Armed Forces.

A training and skilling upgradation scheme implemented by the Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom, Government of Jammu & Kashmir wherein pass-out meritorious trainees and ex-trainees from departmental training centers are identified and provided skill upgradation training in crafts facing human resource crunch as well as languishing crafts. Registered Karkhanas/Karkhandars enroll trainees for six-month training programs with a minimum of five trainees for small Karkhana and maximum of 10 for big Karkhana.

A training scheme by the Leather Industries Development Corporation (LIDCOM), Government of Maharashtra, implemented for students from the Scheduled Caste Charmakar Community to enable them to start their own businesses, trade, or get a job. The scheme provides training programmes including Footwear Design & Development, UPSC/MPSC preparation, and Smartness Quotient Booster training.
State Horticulture Mission of Uttarakhand
The Madhugram Scheme (also known as Maun Palan Yojana or Madhu Vikas Yojana) is an Uttarakhand government initiative aimed at motivating unemployed youth for self-employment through beekeeping and honey production. The scheme provides up to 80% subsidy to establish honey production units in rural areas, with the goal of reducing migration to cities and making the state self-sufficient in honey production.

Skill development training and family empowerment scheme for unorganized women workers including domestic workers, contract workers, porters, and hamals. The scheme provides training in identified trades such as beautician, nutritionist, dietitian, cooking, hospitality, household items production, nursing, and tailoring, along with financial assistance and family empowerment activities.
Social Justice and Special Assistance Department
A scholarship scheme that provides maintenance allowance to Vimukta Jatis (VJNT) and Special Backward Class (SBC) students studying in Sainik Schools. The scheme aims to create self-employment for unemployed youths by providing vocational training in Government ITIs and short-duration courses. Training fees of ₹400 to ₹2400 are paid to the ITI, and upon completion, a tool kit of ₹1000 is provided to enable trainees to create their own employment in the service sector.

The Migrants Employment Generation Programme (MEGP) is designed for Non-Resident Tamils who returned to Tamil Nadu due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The scheme aims to generate employment opportunities by converting eligible returnees into small-scale entrepreneurs through microenterprises in manufacturing, service, and business sectors. It provides collateral-free loans with government subsidy, mandatory entrepreneurship training, and marketing support.

Mission Solar Charkha is a pilot project that envisages setting up of Solar Charkha Clusters in focal villages and surrounding villages within a radius of 8-10 kilometres. Each cluster will have 200-2042 beneficiaries (spinners, weavers, stitches, and other skilled artisans). The Skill Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS) or Modular Employable Skills (MES) under the Indian government is aimed at improving the employability of the Indian workforce by providing vocational training. It is a public-private partnership between the government and industry to promote skills development programs for early school dropouts and existing workers, especially in the unorganized sector. The main goal is to provide employable skills and test and certify existing skills for school leavers, workers, ITI graduates, and those withdrawn as child labor. The MSME Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) Initiative is a sub-scheme under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme with a total outlay of Rs.277.35 crore for FY 2024-2027. It leverages the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) ecosystem to onboard Micro and Small Enterprises onto e-commerce platforms, reducing the burden of building independent digital infrastructure. The scheme targets 5 lakh MSEs of which at least 50% must be women-owned enterprises, and is implemented through the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). Seller Network Participants (SNPs) registered on ONDC assist MSMEs with onboarding, digital training, and market expansion support. Eligible enterprises receive onboarding support, multilingual e-commerce access (Hindi and English initially), and integration with platforms like MSME Global Mart and e-Khadi Portal.

The scheme enhances livelihood security in urban areas by providing 120 days of guaranteed wage employment to every household in a financial year. It facilitates skill enhancement and entrepreneurship training with bank linkage for self-employment, and strengthens urban infrastructure through quality civic amenities in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Cantonment Boards (CBs) in Himachal Pradesh.

PM Vishwakarma Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme launched on 17 September 2023 to provide end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople who work with their hands and tools across 18 traditional trades. The scheme offers recognition via a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card, skill training (basic 5–7 days and advanced 15 days), a toolkit incentive of ₹15,000, collateral-free enterprise development loans (₹1 lakh in Tier-1 and ₹2 lakh in Tier-2 at 5% concessional interest), digital transaction incentives, and marketing support through quality certification, branding, and GeM onboarding. The scheme runs from FY 2023-24 to FY 2027-28 with a total outlay of ₹13,000 crore.

A scheme designed to make MSMEs understand that energy audit and conserving energy are critical issues of great importance to the financial performance and competitiveness of their enterprise. The Awareness Programme component comprises one-day programs organized at the district level with 40-50 participants, covering executives, employees, and workers of MSMEs.
Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Department
A training programme component of the PEACE scheme designed to enable MSMEs to establish systems and processes necessary to improve energy performance, energy efficiency, and help reduce energy consumption and costs. The training will be organized by GM, DICs/RJD, Chennai in coordination with MSMEs Associations, Product Associations, Clusters, and other Stakeholders. The course duration is 3-4 days and covers energy management systems for electrical systems (maximum demand control, power factor control, motors, transformers, pumps, fans, air-conditioning, chillers, DG sets, lighting, compressors) and thermal systems (boilers, furnaces, driers, thermic fluid systems, heat exchangers, steam systems).

Religious minority community entrepreneurs will be trained in artistic and technical skills and provided a loan of ₹50,000 with a 4% rate of interest, to be paid in 36 installments. If the beneficiary repays 50% of the loan within 36 months, the remaining 50% of the loan would be considered a back-end subsidy. If the beneficiary fails to repay the loan within 36 months, 50% of the backend subsidy will be considered as a loan.

The Skilled Youth Start-Up Scheme (SYSS) was launched on 15th August 2020 by the Government of Sikkim to reduce unemployment and create self-employment opportunities. It provides back-ended subsidy assistance (50% for BPL, 35% for others) on financially viable/bankable projects for setting up Manufacturing, Service, Business, Co-Operative, or Agriculture & Allied Activities. The scheme covers both rural and urban areas and includes Entrepreneur Development Training.

A scheme for financing SC/ST and/or Women Entrepreneurs by facilitating bank loans for setting up a greenfield project enterprise in manufacturing, services, trading sector and activities allied to agriculture. The objective is to facilitate bank loans between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 1 Crore to at least one Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) borrower and at least one woman borrower per bank branch for setting up a greenfield enterprise. In case of non-individual enterprises, at least 51% of the shareholding and controlling stake should be held by either an SC/ST or Woman entrepreneur.

The Startup Manipur program aims to promote sustainable economic growth and generate significant employment opportunities in Manipur. Under the Manipur Startup Policy 2018, the government has established several incubation centers to promote the growth of a minimum of 1,000 technology-based innovative startups throughout the state. The program empowers youth to become job creators by fostering entrepreneurship and innovation culture, providing a supportive ecosystem to nurture startups, and making Manipur a leading startup destination in the North East.

Swanirbhar Naari is a state flagship scheme implemented by the Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, Assam, to support indigenous weavers and promote their traditional hand-woven items. They provide tooling facilities, training programmes (school dropout to M.Tech level), process and product development, consultancy and job works, skilling and re-skilling of youth. Established from 1967 to 1999, these centres support Design, Development and Manufacturing of Tools, Dies, Moulds, Jigs & Fixtures. They also support strategic sectors such as Defence and Aerospace.

The training is given through private motor driving schools. Under this scheme, the selected candidates are provided training with free lodging, boarding facility, License Fees, etc.

A program launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, in 2015 to preserve the rich heritage of traditional arts and crafts of minorities and to provide employment opportunities to minority youth in these sectors. Master craftsmen and artisans are provided with training to upgrade their skills and become trainers. They then train minority youth in traditional arts and crafts. The scheme provides support for market linkages development.
Labour Department
Yuvasree (earlier named as Yuva Utsaha Prakalpa) was launched by the Labour Department, Govt. of West Bengal, with effect from 1st October 2013. The objective of the scheme is to provide unemployment assistance to the enrolled jobseekers of the Employment Bank to enable them to upgrade their level of skill in order to make them employable or suitable for setting up of self-employment ventures.
