Tool Rooms and Technical Institutions (Technology Centres) scheme supports integrated development of relevant industry sectors to help MSMEs. 18 MSME Tool Rooms and Technical Institutions are established PAN India serving sectors like General Engineering, foundry & forging, electronics, fragrance, glass, sports goods and footwear. They provide tooling facilities, training programmes (school dropout to M.Tech level), process and product development, consultancy and job works, skilling and re-skilling of youth. Established from 1967 to 1999, these centres support Design, Development and Manufacturing of Tools, Dies, Moulds, Jigs & Fixtures. They also support strategic sectors such as Defence and Aerospace.
