The Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) aims to bridge the digital divide by developing and manufacturing state-of-the-art telecom technologies for rural and remote areas. The scheme provides funding for R&D and commercialization of telecom products, solutions, and use cases. An allocation of 5% of annual collections from the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) is available for funding R&D in the Telecom sector, starting with funds collected in the financial year 2021-22.
